Feb. 14--Illinois State Police closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 55 near Gardner Saturday morning due to a multiple-vehicle crash that happened during "white-out" conditions.
Several crashes occurred about 11 a.m. near mile post 227. In addition to those accidents, all lanes of eastbound I-80 near near Morris at mile post 111 were blocked due to a separate incident, said police.
The I-80 crash involved a commercial motor vehicle and a least two other vehicles. There were injuries reported, but police said the injuries were minor.
White-out conditions were reported in both crashes due to the high winds and blowing snow, said police.
