April 07--Now here's a move that doesn't happen often: A Chicago neighborhood restaurant upgrades to Michigan Avenue real estate.
Come May, Mr. Brown's Lounge, a 6-year-old Jamaican restaurant in Ukrainian Village, will open its second location at the Hard Rock Hotel (81 E. Wacker Pl.).
"Mr. Brown," of course, was the 1970 song recorded by Bob Marley and the Wailers. So Jamaican jerk chicken will be prominent at the 85-seat restaurant downtown. At its Ukrainian Village location, menu items include oxtail stew, curried goat and housemade rum raisin ice cream.
The restaurant group behind Mr. Brown's expansion is also in charge of Chuck's: A Kerry Simon Kitchen, also located at the Hard Rock Hotel.
