Jan. 16--A Mount Prospect garage fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages early Thursday.
The fire started about 7 a.m. in the 600 block of West Rand Road, and flames and smoke were seen on a detached garage, according to Mount Prospect fire officials.
No one was hurt, and the house was evacuated.
The fire was put under control within 10 minutes.
An investigation is pending.
