Oct. 20--A motorcyclist driving between cars on Lake Shore Drive ran a red light and plowed into a group of pedestrians in a crosswalk near Buckingham Fountain, killing a woman and seriously injuring a man, police said.
The two had a green light and were walking west across the road when they were hit, authorities said.
The woman, 25, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The man, whose age wasn't available, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was in custody at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
