BRIEF: Motorcyclist dead in crash on Lake Shore Drive

May 07--A 35-year-old Dolton man died after his three-wheeled motorcycle crashed Friday evening on Lake Shore Drive on the South Side.

The man was driving his motorcycle on Lake Shore Drive near 57th Street when he crashed with an SUV about 10:26 p.m., said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago police spokesman.

The motorcyclist, identified as Michael Cook of the 15200 block of Dante Avenue in south suburban Dolton, was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The driver of the SUV refused medical attention, Gaines said. No one else was injured, and no one was immediately cited as a result of the crash.

The police department's Major Accidents Unit is investigating. No other information was available.
