Dec. 09--Nissan and its luxury division Infiniti are recalling more than 133,000 vehicles in the U.S. and an additional 336,000 globally to fix a potential fire hazard, the automaker said Tuesday.
The recall affects the 2012-2014 Nissan Juke, the 2012-2013 Infiniti M56 sedan and QX56 SUV, and the 2014-2015 Q70 sedan and QX70 SUV.
The five models all have direct-injection engines, and the fuel-pressure sensor in them may not have been "sufficiently tightened during production," Nissan said.
This can cause vibrations to loosen the sensor, and fuel to leak out.
If fuel leaks out, a fire could start, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. However, no accidents or injuries have been reported as a result of the issue, a Nissan spokesman said.
Nissan said it will begin notifying owners of the recall in January, and that dealers will install new fuel-pressure sensors in affected models at no charge.
