Feb. 11--More casting was announced on Wednesday for Lyric Opera's spring production of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II"s musical "Carousel."
Continuing Lyric's trend of packing this show with Broadway talent, Matthew Hydzik from the recently-shuttered revival of "Side Show" has been cast in the role of Enoch Snow.
Tony Award-nominee Charlotte d'Amboise ("Pippin") will play Mrs. Mullin. Tony Award-winner Jarrod Emick ("Damn Yankees," "Ring of Fire") will be Jigger Craigin and Tony Roberts ("Xanadu") will play Starkeeper.
They join previously announced cast members Steven Pasquale ("Bridges of Madison County"), Laura Osnes ("Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella") and Jenn Gambatese ("Sound of Music" at Lyric) in director Rob Ashford's production. Opera singer Denyce Graves will play Nettie Fowler.
"Carousel" begins performances at Lyric Opera, 20 N. Upper Wacker Drive, on April 10 and continues through May 3. Tickets are now on sale at lyricopera.org/carousel.
