BRIEF: Monteverde named one of 12 best new restaurants in America by GQ magazine

May 24--If you haven't eaten at Monteverde yet, well, making a reservation probably just got a lot harder.

Since opening in November, the West Loop spot from former Spiaggia chef Sarah Grueneberg and former Terzo Piano chef Meg Sahs has earned three stars from Tribune critic Phil Vettel and a spot on his list of his favorite 50 restaurants in Chicago right now.

Today, GQ handed the restaurant another distinction: Writer Brett Martin named it one of the best new restaurants in America. He praised the mortadella tortellini, the cacio e pepe made with ricotta whey "and most of all, the skate-wing schnitzel, served over boiled potatoes and topped with radicchio and citrus."

Humboldt Park steakhouse Boeufhaus, while not named in the top 12, got a nod in the piece, which you can read here.
