--Nick Kokonas Grant Achatz's proprietary restaurant ticketing system, Tock, is going nationwide, and there are some heavy-hitting investors behind the venture. [Tribune]

--On his wonderful blog, Hank Shaw writes in defense of the chicken. "The chicken you buy at the farmer's market are not the same birds as you buy from even the fancy supermarkets. [Hunter, Angler, Gardener, Cook]

--A tour of the weird gummy candies at Dylan's Candy Bar on the Mag Mile. [Chicago mag]

--Our cousins at RedEye have a job opening for a food, drinks and nightlife reporter. Deadline is this Friday! [RedEye]
