BRIEF: Minor fire closes Xoco for a few days

March 23--You might have to wait another day or two for a torta, sopa or hot chocolate from Rick Bayless' Xoxo (449 N. Clark St.).

A minor fire on the restaurant's roof Monday (Xoco is closed Mondays) necessitated repairs that kept the restaurant closed Tuesday and again Wednesday.

Xoco's Facebook page asked customers to be patient "as we get our ducts in a row," demonstrating humor in the face of adversity.

It was business as usual for next-door Topolobampo and Frontera Grill restaurants, which were unaffected. A Bayless spokesperson said there was no damage to Xoco's interior, and that the restaurant should be up and running shortly.

Look for updates on Xoco's Facebook page and Twitter feed, and we'll post something as soon as we know, too.

Meantime, there's still Xoco Wicker Park (1471 N. Milwaukee Ave.) to sustain you.
