April 21--A minor derailment in a Union Pacific yard prevented some trains from leaving the Ogilvie Transportation Center during rush hour, officials said.
Six trains were affected, with delays from eight to 20 minutes, authorities said.
Two trains were on the Union Pacific West Line, three were on the Union Pacific Northwest Line and one was on the Union Pacific North Line.
"This yard serves all the trains that serve on all Union Pacific lines so when they're coming out for the evening rush hour to get to Ogilvie, whatever happened, made it harder to get those trains out there in time to leave on time," said Michael Gillis, a Metra spokesman.
