BRIEF: Minions toys are cursing, some parents say

July 09--Could it be that those cute little Minions found in McDonald's Happy Meals have potty mouths?

Some parents think so.

According to stories from Ad Age and other news outlets, some parents are complaining that the toys, which are included in Happy Meals as a tie-in with the "Minions" movie, can be heard saying "What the f---." Others have reported that they say "I'll be damned."

If you can't get to McDonald's for a Happy Meal but are itching to consider the evidence yourself, you can turn to YouTube, where one parent posted a video asking the public if they, too, can hear what he thinks he's hearing.

A McDonald's spokeswoman said in an email to the Tribune that allegations that the toy says anything offensive or profane are not true.

"The Minion Caveman Happy Meal toy includes 3 sounds: 'para la bukay,' 'hahaha,' and 'eh eh,'" she wrote. "We're aware of a very small number of customers who have been in touch regarding this toy, and we regret any confusion or offense to those who may have misinterpreted its sounds."
