BRIEF: Minions move into Build-A-Bear territory

July 10--Though they are by definition subordinates, Minions are commanding the spotlight this summer. Leading up to the opening of the "Minions" movie, Build-A-Bear Workshop debuted a customizable collection of Minions characters, featuring the one-eyed Stuart, bald Bob and sprig-of-hair Kevin.

Kids can customize their Minions plushie with a range of apparel, including the signature denim overalls and rubber boots along with three costumes from the film -- Pirate, Gone Batty (vampire) and Peace Brother.

And if kids can't get enough of Minion jabbertalk, they can add prerecorded sounds based on a character's personality. Or they can include a personalized message on a recordable chip.

Pricing for each Minion starts at $25. Outfits and accessories are sold separately. The Build-A-Bear Minions collection is available online and in stores.
