BRIEF: Milwaukee outfielder can expect hospital visit from Dodgers' Dave Roberts

March 21--REPORTING FROM PHOENIX -- Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts planned to visit Milwaukee outfielder Rymer Liriano in the hospital this week after Liriano sustained facial fractures on Sunday after he was hit in the face with a fastball by Dodgers minor-leaguer Matt West.

Roberts coached Liriano, a 24-year-old from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, when they were both in San Diego. Liriano debuted for the Padres in 2014.

"It's scary, it's unfortunate," Roberts said. "You feel for the player, his family. For this player, his [family] is in the Dominican, and all they hear is the news and things. So it's unfortunate, for sure."

West hit Liriano in the eighth inning of a split-squad game in Maryvale, Ariz. He said he had not had a chance to reach out to Liriano. West passed his best wishes to the Brewers' third-base coach after the inning ended.
