BRIEF: Milder weather for the weekend, maybe rain

Feb. 06--Milder temperatures are in the weekend forecast for the Chicago area.

The weather is expected to be in the upper 20s and mid 30s and mostly dry over the next couple of days until Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to drop to the teens, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday's forecast is for a high of 31, according to Tom Skilling, WGN-TV's chief meteorologist.

Saturday and Sunday temperatures are expected to be in the mid 30s. A slight chance of rain and sleet is possible both days, with Saturday seeing a 20 percent chance of precipitation and Sunday a 40 percent likelihood, said National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Nelson.

Monday's high will be in the upper 20s and Tuesday's high in the lower 20s, Nelson said.

Temperatures on Wednesday will drop to the teens, accompanied by a possible mix of rain and snow.
