BRIEF: 'Mike Mike' show headed to Notre Dame

Nov. 14--One show stands out among Mike Greenberg's nearly 15 years of co-hosting ESPN Radio's "Mike Mike" show. It came last October, on the eve of the Ohio State-Northwestern game.

"That was the most fun I've ever had," Greenberg said of a day in which he also served as Grand Marshall of Northwestern's Homecoming parade. "Saturday should be second."

Greenberg and Mike Golic will do their morning show (5-9 a.m. Chicago time) Friday from the Joyce Center at Notre Dame, the day before Golic's Irish take on Greenberg's Wildcats. Greenberg said he wishes Notre Dame had beaten Arizona State to remain in the playoff hunt.

"That's a shame," he said, "but even if both teams were 0-8, this would have been a big game."

Greenberg is bummed about NU's 3-6 season but supported coach Pat Fitzgerald's decision to try to beat Michigan with a two-point conversion: "Like in blackjack, sometimes you do the right thing and don't win."

Greenberg said he will wear purple to the game and is prepared for some boos "and good-natured stuff ... I plan to enjoy the game, though I might be awfully quiet as I exit the stadium."
