Aug. 20--The Chicago Cultural Mile Association is hosting a public meeting next week for cultural organizations interested in participating in its inaugural Halloween celebration downtown.
The meeting will be held Monday in the Studebaker Theatre in the Fine Arts Building at 410 S. Michigan Ave. There will be a presentation at 6 p.m. and a cocktail reception from 7 to 8 p.m.
The Cultural Mile Association, which promotes businesses and attractions along Michigan Avenue between the Chicago River and Roosevelt Road and nearby areas, announced earlier this month it will host a Halloween celebration Oct. 24.
The Halloween Gathering Procession festivities include a parade that is to be led by Lupe Fiasco, "Life Itself" director Steve James, photographer Dawoud Bey, poet Kevin Coval and others.
