BRIEF: Michelle Obama to campaign for Democrats Saturday in western Illinois

Oct. 30--First lady Michelle Obama will appear Saturday in Moline at a get-out-the-vote rally for three Democrats: Gov. Pat Quinn, Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Cheri Bustos.

All three are running for re-election Tuesday and face Republican challenges.

Bruce Rauner, an equity investor from Winnetka, is running against Quinn, and state Sen. Jim Oberweis faces Durbin. Former U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling of Colona is in a rematch against Bustos, a first-term member of Congress from East Moline.

On Oct. 7, the first lady led a rally at the University of Illinois at Chicago Pavilion in support of Quinn. Both President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have been in Chicago recently to campaign for Democrats.

The Democratic rally Saturday will be held at 11 a.m. in the Wharton Field House, a 6,000-seat indoor arena in Moline.
