Jan. 12--Artistic director Michael Patrick Thornton will star in the Gift Theatre's production of "Richard III," the company announced Tuesday.
The production will also feature ensemble members Brittany Burch, John Kelly Connolly, Kenny Mihlfried, Keith Neagle, Jay Worthington and Kyle Zornes, along with Jenny Avery, Thom Cox, Olivia Cygan, Adrian Danzig, Shanesia Davis, Greg Fenner, Chris Peltier, Caroline Lotta, Martel Manning and Hannah Toriumi.
Jessica Thebus will direct the Shakespearean drama, produced in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, aiming to reimagine disability and Shakespeare's villain.
The production, first slated to be produced by Next Theatre Company before the theater announced its closing in 2014, runs March 3 -- May 1 at Steppenwolf's Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted St.
