March 29--A Metro bus and a car collided in South Los Angeles on Monday night, apparently starting a fire that charred both vehicles.
The crash occurred at Western Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard shortly before 7 p.m., said Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The bus caught fire but the flames were quickly knocked down, Scott said.
At least two people were injured in the crash. The driver was the only person onboard the bus, Scott said.
Aerial footage from KNBC-TV Channel 4 showed an orange Metro bus with extensive burn damage and broken windows around the middle. The bus appeared to have been T-boned by the car, which was also severely burned and apparently totaled.
