Feb. 11--Trains on the UP West line are expected to return to a normal schedule Thursday after repairs were completed on a facility in suburban Melrose Park.
Metra announced early Thursday that trains would run on their usual weekday schedules.
An electrical fire at a crossing in Melrose Park damaged a facility that controls all the switches and signals in the area of 25th Avenue between the Melrose Park and Berkeley stations. Delays of up to 30 minutes initially were expected to continue through Thursday.
