Jan. 14--Signal problems at Chicago's Union Station on Wednesday afternoon temporarily ground outbound and inbound train service to a halt, officials said.
Amtrak officials said signals went down temporarily until they were able to reboot the system during rush hour service, Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said.
The problems had affected all inbound and outbound Metra service from Union Station, said Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.
The signals, which are part of the Amtrak system, went down about 5 p.m. but were up again about a half-hour later, Gillis said.
The temporarily disruption is causing delays, Gillis said. To track the status of the train service, go to the Metra website.
