The tree-lighting parade, led by grand marshals Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, steps off at 5:30 p.m. at Oak Street and Michigan Avenue. It travels south on Michigan to Wacker Drive. The parade ends with a fireworks show over the Chicago River.
Temperatures are supposed to warmer by Saturday, with highs reaching the upper 40s. Rain is also likely Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.
The festival will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. on WLS-Ch.7.
