BRIEF: Memorial Day war marathon on TCM

May 23--Get your DVRs ready. TCM is commemorating Memorial Day weekend with a marathon of war films involving World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Among the highlights of Sunday's program includes King Vidor's 1925 silent epic, "The Big Parade"; Jean Renoir's 1937 French masterpiece, "Grand Illusion"; and Nicholas Ray's 1951 "Flying Leathernecks," starring John Wayne. Monday's standouts include two Oscar-winning best films -- Fred Zinnemann's 1953 "From Here to Eternity" and Franklin Schaffner's 1970 "Patton" -- as well as Robert Aldrich's 1967 "The Dirty Dozen" and William Wellman's "Battleground."
