BRIEF: Melissa McCarthy supports 'Gilmore Girls' reboot but likely won't star

March 17--Melissa McCarthy said she probably won't return to Stars Hollow for Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" revival.

"I don't think I am (returning)," McCarthy told E! News for a story posted online Wednesday. "I didn't actually get asked to do it. But I think they thought I was busy, and then by the time it did come up, then I actually was."

The Plainfield native played chef Sookie St. James on the series, which aired from 2000-07. Several of the stars, including Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, have reprised their roles for the four-part revival.

"I'm actually thrilled that it's happening," McCarthy said. "I loved that show, and I think the fans for that show are really super loyal and great, and I will watch every single one of them."

McCarthy, 45, stars in the Chicago-set comedy "The Boss," due out April 8, and the "Ghostbusters" reboot, slated to hit theaters July 15.

The series finale of her Chicago-set show "Mike and Molly" is set to air May 16, CBS announced Wednesday.
