Feb. 03--McDonald's is trying to temper expectations about its newest addition to the all-day breakfast lineup.
The world's largest burger chain issued a press release Wednesday, warning customers that its McGriddle breakfast sandwich isn't part of the all-day breakfast menu nationwide.
McDonald's announced last week that it was testing McGriddles as part of its all-day breakfast lineup, but it's not rolling them out nationwide unless they sell well.
Customers have complained since all-day breakfast was first launched in October that all breakfast items weren't available 24/7. But the limited menu was selected because the restaurant kitchens aren't big enough to be able to prepare all the items, and the addition of a huge number of items would have slowed down order times and further complicated food preparation procedures.
McGriddles aren't available on the all-day menu in the Chicago area.
