BRIEF: McDonald's Happy Meals get virtual reality twist

March 01--Some McDonald's Happy Meals are taking a leap into the 21st century.

McDonald's Sweden has developed "Happy Goggles," a kind of cardboard virtual reality headset that's made from the Happy Meal box. The headset -- which one assumes has the subtle smell of French fries -- is designed to hold a smartphone, on which kids can play a downhill skiing game designed specifically for the contraption.

The special Happy Meal boxes will only be available for a week, from March 5 to 12, but the offer may be expanded. The promotion is being used to mark the 30th anniversary of Happy Meals in Sweden.
