BRIEF: McDermott available against Pistons; Hinrich, Rose out

April 03--Bulls rookie Doug McDermott is available to return to action Friday night against the Pistons.

Meanwhile, veteran guard Kirk Hinrich (left knee hyperextended) is not expected to be available against Detroit, according to coach Tom Thibodeau. Guard Derrick Rose, rehabbing from knee surgery, also will be out.

"It has been awhile, it feels like," McDermott said of his back soreness. "I think it was a week ago against Indiana. I fell on my back and it kind of just flared up on me. Nothing serious, it's just more muscular. Rest is the only thing that can really cure it."

Rose went through his rehabbing routine Friday morning at the Advocate Center.

"He is making steady progress, day by day," Thibodeau said. "When he feels comfortable enough to be out there, then he will be out there. He has got to go through some more practices to get there."
