April 10--DENVER -- Manager Joe Maddon said he likes carrying three catchers and would do his best to keep them sharp.
Maddon is giving Welington Castillo his first start of 2015 on Friday as the Chicago Cubs visit the Colorado Rockies. With Castillo in the lineup, it means that the Cubs will have started three catchers in their first three games.
Castillo will bat seventh, behind left fielder Matt Szczur -- who also is making his first start of 2015.
