Feb. 12--Alt-rocker Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon has sold a Studio City home in an off-market deal for $1.13 million.
Set up from the street, the Traditional-style two-story house was built in 1948 but had been renovated. Views from the one-third-acre site take in the Valley, the cityscape and treetops.
Within the 2,227 square feet of living space is a central living room with wood floors and a wood-burning fireplace. An open-plan dining room and kitchen features a breakfast bar, granite counters and stainless-steel appliances. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
A wooden deck extends the room for entertaining outdoors.
Singer-songwriter Scannell is a founding member as well as lead vocalist and lead guitarist for the band, known for their hit "Everything You Want." They toured U.S. cities last year.
He has also worked with singer Richard Marx. The two released the albums "Duo" (2008) and "Duo Live" (2010).
Property records show he bought the house in 2004 for $849,900 and had leased it out in recent years.
