BRIEF: Mary-Arrchie founder celebrated with "Honorary Richard Cotovsky Way"

Jan. 28--Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. is closing down but founding member and longtime artistic director Richard Cotovsky's legacy will live on with a street sign.

The stretch of W. Sheridan Rd. by Angel Island, where Mary-Arrchie has presented performances for 30 years, will be named "Honorary Richard Cotovsky Way" to celebrate the Chicago theater stalwart.

Cotovksy was presented with the news Thursday evening by 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman and members of the theater company at the northeast corner of N. Broadway and W. Sheridan Rd.

Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. will shutter its doors after its final performance of David Mamet's "American Buffalo" on March 6, 2016.
