Jan. 09--Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch does not like talking to the media, and that has officially cost him $100,000, according to NFL insiders and his agent.
Lynch, also known as "Beast Mode," was dinged heavily -- $50,000 last season and another $50,000 this season, all due now -- by the NFL for repeatedly giving the media the cold shoulder, which is a violation of league policy.
Lynch lost his appeal of the fines Thursday, according to his agent and insiders.
"[Marshawn Lynch] will keep speaking the truth on the field....old school, throwback, warrior, best in league. 100k for not talking...joke..." tweeted Doug Hendrickson, Lynch's agent.
Since the league leveled the fine on Lynch, he has talked to reporters -- kind of. For the most part, he has taken to replying to questions with one-word answers or statements that have nothing to do with the question asked.
Lynch's mother has said he hates the media and that is why he acts the way he does. However, it has also been reported that he is uncomfortable with crowds, so he prefers to keep quiet.
