BRIEF: Marshawn Lynch hasn't said if he'll return, Seattle Seahawks GM says

Feb. 10--The big off-season question for the Seattle Seahawks' faithful is whether star running back Marshawn Lynch is planning to return next season.

During an appearance on KIRO-AM in Seattle on Tuesday, Seahawks General Manager John Schneider said he still doesn't know what Lynch's plans may be, and said Lynch's decision "might not happen overnight."

"Whether or not he wants to play next year, I can't answer that," Schneider said. "I don't know if he knows at this juncture."

Lynch is entering the final year of a four-year, $31-million contract with the Seahawks. According to multiple reports, Lynch is contemplating retirement following the Seahawks' 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.

Still, Lynch has plenty of incentive to play -- in addition to the $5 million he would make in the upcoming season, NFL.com reported that the Seahawks have offered him a contract extension that could pay out more than $10 million in 2015.

"Obviously we think he's a hell of a player," Schneider said. "We want to have him back; he knows that, his representatives know that. He knows that if he's back, he's not going to be playing at the same number he's scheduled to make."
