BRIEF: Marshawn Lynch finally says it publicly: 'I'm retired'

June 06--Marshawn Lynch hung up his cleats back in February (or at least he tweeted a photo of hanging cleats during the Super Bowl).

Last month, the Seattle Seahawks put their former Pro Bowl running back on the retired list.

But it wasn't until Monday that we actually heard the phrase "I'm retired" come from Lynch's mouth.

He says those words emphatically during a clip from an interview with "60 Minutes Sports" that airs in its entirety Tuesday at 6 p.m. Pacific time on Showtime.

"I'm retired. Is that good enough?" he tells Sports Illustrated's Jon Wertheim in the clip. "Which camera do you want me to look into, this one? I'm done. I'm not playing football anymore."

The 10-year veteran known as Beast Mode rushed for 9,112 yards and 74 touchdowns and led the NFL in TD runs during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He also famously hates postgame interviews, loves eating Skittles and has found himself in trouble with the league for celebrating touchdown runs by grabbing his crotch.
