BRIEF: Marriott announces cast of 'Evita'

March 16--The Marriott Theatre has completed casting for Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera "Evita," the company announced Tuesday.

Hannah Corneau will star as Eva Peron, performing the vocally demanding role at six shows every week, with Samantha Pauly taking over for the remaining two performances. The cast features Austin Lesch as Che, Larry Adams as Juan Peron, David Schlumpf as Magaldi and Eliza Palasz as the Mistress, along with William Carlos Angulo, Lauren Blane, Brian Bohr, Brianna Borger, Jameson Cooper, Bobby Daye, Alana Grossman, Anne Gunn, George Keating, Lauren Kias, Josh Kohane, Kristina Larson-Hauk, Russell Mernagh, Christine Mild, Sayiga Eugene Peabody, James Rank, Todd Rhoades, Emily Rohm, Laura Savage and Jason Slattery.

Featuring lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Lloyd Webber, "Evita" follows the short-lived life of Eva Peron, the divisive and iconic political figure of Argentina. Alex Sanchez will direct and choreograph the production, with musical direction by Ryan T. Nelson.

"Evita" runs April 13 -- June 5 at the Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire.
