April 15--A Marine helicopter made an emergency landing Wednesday morning at Solana Beach after crew members noticed a light indicating low oil pressure.
None of the Marines aboard the CH-53E Super Stallion was hurt. There were also no injuries on the beach, according to the Marine Corps.
Although there is no indication of a fuel or oil spill, the Marines have sent hazardous materials specialists to the scene.
The helicopter was on a routine training mission from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.
Solana Beach is 20 miles north of San Diego and often in a flight pattern of helicopters from Miramar to and from Camp Pendleton.
Marines expect to have the helicopter removed by late afternoon, the Marine Corps said.
