March 09--It had appeared as if Marian Hossa was all set to play Wednesday following Blackhawks practice on Tuesday.
All Hossa needed to do was to feel good after the morning skate. However, Hossa said he was not quite 100 percent and will sit out Wednesday's game against the Blues because of a left leg injury he suffered Feb. 13.
Hossa bag skated for about a half hour after the Hawks' morning skate.
"I'm still feeling it wasn't there yet and I don't want to rush it," Hossa said. "I'd rather wait an extra couple days. And bag skating also helps to get conditioning back where I want it to be and make sure if I am physically and mentally 100 percent. It's getting there, but I didn't feel like (Wednesday) was the day."
Hossa would not categorize his condition as a setback, just that he isn't quite at where he would like to be before playing in a game. That could happen Friday in Dallas against the Stars.
"We'll go day-by-day and obviously if I feel 100 percent, I don't want to take a chance so close to the playoffs," Hossa said. "I want to make sure I'm 100 percent."
