BRIEF: Man wounded in Far South Side shooting

Jan. 16--A man was wounded late Friday morning in a shooting on the city's Far South Side in the Roseland neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 11:45 a.m. on the 10400 block of South Michigan Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

Preliminary information said the victim, 24, was shot at the Michigan Avenue location and traveled to the 9400 block of South Wabash Avenue where police and paramedics were called, said Estrada.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with wounds to his hand, leg and face, said Estrada. As of 1:30 p.m., his condition had been stabilized.

Police said the shooting may have been gang-related.
