March 04--A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday morning on the South Side in the city's West Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on the 6800 block of South Hoyne Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. A 19-year-old man was walking on South Hoyne when a green minivan van approached and someone inside fired shots, said Estrada, citing preliminary police information.

The victim, who was struck in the chest, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, said Estrada.

As of 11:30 a.m., no one was in custody for the attack and police were investigating.
