Feb. 29--An 18-year-old Costa Mesa man was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of brandishing a machete in a threatening manner, according to police.
He is suspected of swinging the machete at another man outside the man's house shortly after noon in the 1800 block of Monrovia Avenue in Costa Mesa and threatening to kill him, said Sgt. Matt Selinske.
It is not clear if the two were acquainted before the altercation.
Police arrested Rommel Durini on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making threats and displaying a deadly weapon, authorities said.
