Jan. 15--Chicago police issued an alert asking for the public's help to find a man who inappropriately touched a 13-year-old girl who was walking to school Thursday on the Southwest Side.
According to police, the sexual abuse happened at 7:50 a.m. on the 3600 block of South Paulina Street in the McKinley Park neighborhood. The girl was walking to school when a man she did not know approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately, police said.
After making contact with the girl, the man continued walking south on Paulina, police said.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 170 pounds, police said.
He has a dark complexion, and short spiky black hair that appeared to have a lot of hair gel, police said. He had a round, chubby face with acne scars, police said.
He had black sunglasses, a green scarf, light brown or khaki knee-length coat and was wearing dark, shiny dress shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call police and remain on the scene if possible. People should call 911 or the Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
