BRIEF: Man stabbed near Red Line stop in Old Town

Nov. 08--Chicago police were searching for a male involved in a stabbing early Sunday morning near the Red Line station in the Old Town neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The stabbing happened on the 100 block of West Division Street on the sidewalk, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman. The Red Line's Clark/Division stop is located near the incident.

The incident happened at 12:30 a.m. and left a 37-year-old man injured, police said.

The victim, who is a known gang member, got into a verbal altercation with another male who stabbed the victim in the right shoulder, Sedevic said.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized, Sedevic said.
