March 27--A man was shot to death on his South Austin neighborhood porch Thursday evening, police said.
The man, age 21, was shot in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street about 5:45 p.m., said Chicago Police spokeswoman Officer Bari Lemmon. The man, identified as Antoine Coney, 21, was pronounced dead at 6:26 p.m. on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The man was on the porch of a home when a grey vehicle drove up and someone jumped out and started firing at the man, hitting him in the head, Lemmon said.
The vehicle sped east on Quincy following the shooting, Lemmon said.
