BRIEF: Man shot to death on Northwest Side identified

Sept. 11--A man shot and killed early Tuesday on the Northwest Side has been identified, authorities said.

Rocky Weekes, 31, died from multiple gunshot wounds following the shooting in the 3300 block of North Keeler Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Weekes was hit in the chest and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead there at 5:10 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

Police said he was in an argument with someone just before that person shot him.

Weekes lived in the 3400 block of North Kenton Avenue, a little more than a half-mile from where he was shot, according to the medical examiner's office.
