Dec. 05--A man died after he was shot several times while driving on Interstate 80 in Hammond and then crashed his car after continuing for another mile, according to Indiana State Police.
Dominique D. Wright, 25, was found in an older-model black Oldsmobile around 7 p.m. Thursday after police responded to a call about a possible hit-and-run, authorities said.
Wright had been shot near Cline Avenue and collided with another car before coming to rest on the inside shoulder of westbound I-80 about a mile from the shooting, according to police and the Lake County coroner's office.
Wright, of the 2200 block of Tanglewood Drive in Hammond, was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner's office.
