Man wanted in Round Lake Beach shooting death

Nov. 09--A 36-year-old man is wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man Saturday night in north suburban Round Lake Beach, officials said.

According to a press release from the Round Lake Beach Police Department, a $3 million arrest warrant for first degree murder has been issued for Jeremy Anderson, of south suburban Chicago Heights. Police said Anderson is considered "armed and dangerous" and that he was last seen driving a blue, 2000 Chevy Malibu four-door with the Illinois license plate V128881.

Anyone with information regarding Anderson is asked to call their local police department or contact Round Lake Beach police at (847) 270-9111.

The shooting happened around 9:13 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Idlewild Drive, according to police. A 31-year-old was transported from the scene to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead, according to the statement. He has not yet been identified.

The incident was ruled a homicide. It was "the result of a domestic incident, and a person of interest has been developed," the statement said.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is helping with the shooting's investigation, which is still in progress.
