Feb. 07--Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man in Maywood.
The shooting occurred about 3 p.m. Friday in the 6000 block of King Avenue, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.
No additional information was released.

According to the Homicide Report, The Times' online database, there has been just one other slaying in the last 12 months within a one-mile radius of Friday's incident.
