Nov. 24--A 15-year-old boy was among four people wounded in shootings on the South Side of Chicago Sunday through early Monday morning, police said.
The boy was walking in the 300 block of East 53rd Street in the Washington Park neighborhood around 5 p.m. Sunday when someone came out of an alley and fired, according to Police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney. The attacker fled on foot.
The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was in good condition, Sweeney said.
In other shootings:
--A 27-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by around 4:33 a.m. Monday, also in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, said Police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco.
The man told police he was in a traveling in a vehicle in the 5900 block of South Michigan Avenue when another car, with three occupants, pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Pacheco said.
The man was struck in the back and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, Pacheco said.
No one is in custody.
--Around 12:35 a.m. Monday, a 41-year-old man was shot in the South Chicago neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The man told the police he was shot in the 2900 block of East 83rd Street. He was shot in the arm and taken to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
The man has been uncooperative with the police, Alfaro said.
--A 28-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday afternoon in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue, said Sweeney, citing preliminary information. The victim was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he said.
Area South detectives were investigating.
