BRIEF: Man shot in Gage Park

Nov. 19--A 22-year-old man was shot in Gage Park Tuesday evening, police said.

The man was standing in the 3000 block of West 53rd Street about 7:30 p.m. when a gunman approached him on foot, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The gunman opened fire, hitting the 22 year-old in his leg, Greer said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition later stabilized.

As of early Wednesday morning, no one was in custody in connection with the shooting. Authorities said the 22-year-old man is a documented gang member.
