Seven people, including the boy, were shot between 10 p.m. and midnight.

About 11:20 p.m., the 14-year-old boy walked into Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot and hurt in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The boy told police he was outside in the 2100 block of South Pulaski Road when someone tried to steal his shoes and shot him in the process. But police said were not able to locate the scene of the crime as of early Wednesday morning.

The boy was hit in the shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. He was listed in good condition, police said.

Most recently, a 36-year-old man was wounded in a shooting around 11:57 p.m. in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Ron Gaines.

The man was standing on the front porch of a home in the 3200 block of North Linder Avenue when an unknown vehicle stopped nearby and someone inside it began firing shots, Gaines said.

About 10:54 p.m., a 48-year-old woman was shot while she was taking out the garbage near her home in the Pill Hill neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

The woman was in the 9300 block of South Chappel Avenue when she was shot multiple times, Gaines said.

She was taken in critical condition to Advocate Chist Medical Center, police said.

The woman's son had an "altercation" earlier in the evening with an unknown attacker, Gaines said.

No other details about the shooting were immediately available.

About 10:22 p.m., a 17-year-old girl, a 21-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the Far South Side, Gaines said.

The group was walking outside in the 1500 block of East 66th Place when someone fired shots at them from a passing dark SUV, Gaines said.

The 17-year-old and the woman were both struck in the leg. The girl was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and the woman was taken to Stroger Hospital. The conditions of both stabilized, Gaines said.

The man was shot in the back and in the armpit and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his conditions stabilized, Gaines said.
